Wedding Fireworks!
No, this is not the kind of fireworks that spell the end of a marriage. This is literally ‘crackers of joy’, going up in the air to the beat of drums. Coupled with the sound of trumpets it is an instant signal to anyone within earshot that the road ahead will be blocked by throngs of celebrating merry makers. Fireworks are usually part of the wedding party, when the groom, family and guests are approaching the marriage venue. It is usually rockets, which are let off in front of the laughing, dancing marriage party as it advances towards its destination.
The fireworks serve a dual purpose as they are let off from empty cold drink bottles which are recycled after their contents have cooled down the heat generated by high spirits and excitement. In another sense these fireworks also act as advance warnings for commuters of the road blocks that lie ahead. Not only this, they provide free entertainment, to the residents living in the area. Of course the down side is that if you happen to live near a banquet hall the frequency with which fireworks enter your life, can be extremely disturbing, if not downright annoying.
